There is Hope in Jesus
By: Sarah Fox
There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. – Luke 21: 25-28
Are you weary?
Is your heart heavy?
Is your load becoming too much for you to carry?
Do thoughts of pain, self-harm, suicide, and grief plague the depths of your mind?
Are you struggling with various addictions: (pornography, sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling, the lust for power, the quest for affirmation, the craving for acceptance, and the longing to be loved).
Do these strongholds keep your soul in a never-ending bind?
It seems like our world is getting worse:
Financial problems, abusive relationships, sexual immorality, racial divides, broken families, high divorce rates, abortions, gang violence, sex/human trafficking, natural disasters, the war on drugs, poverty, immigration laws, political controversies, the transgender/homosexuality divide, international warfare- the list is endless.
We are all crumbling under the pressures of this world.
It seems like evil is consuming the earth. With each day that passes by, more and more people continue to die.
There is an enemy who desires to destroy our souls. He roams around like a roaring lion, seeking to steal, to kill, and to obliterate our lives ( 1 Peter 5:8, John 10:10).
He longs to drag every broken soul into his world of fire, death, and eternal suffering (Revelation 20:9-11).
In the midst of this dark world, there is still hope.
There is a Heavenly Father who is seeking to reunite with his lost children. He sent us a precious gift, the perfect emblem of his everlasting love for us (1 John 4:9, John 3:16-17).
While the enemy fought to keep us in the prison of our flesh, our Father sacrificed his own son to die on our behalf (Ephesians 2:1-10).
He came, not to condemn or to judge. He came to give us abundant life (John 10:9-10).
He came for the poor in spirit, the weak, the sick, the sinful, the prideful, the lost, the weary, the abused, the depressed, and the confused ( Isaiah 61:1-3, Luke 19:9-10).
He came so that we can experience the love of a Heavenly Father, a love that casts out all fear of death (1 John 4:18).
Let me ask you a question: Who told you that you had to go to hell?
Who says that you can’t have a seat at the Table of Forgiveness?
Who says that you can’t feast on the Bread of Life (John 6:35)?
Who told you that you can’t come to the well that overflows with Living Water (John 4:13-14)?
This living water quenches the thirst for fulfillment. It cleanses the soul from unrighteousness and it overflows with the truth of the Holy Spirit. It washes your sins, which are scarlet, and makes them white as wool (Isaiah 1:18).
You don’t have to endure a lost eternity in everlasting flames.
You don’t have to live in constant service to your shame.
Jesus suffered, bled, and died on the cross to pay the price for your sin. By his stripes, we are healed. By his blood, we are redeemed (Isaiah 53:3-5).
He stands at the door of your heart, waiting for you to let him in (Revelation 3:20).
There is hope in Jesus.
Repent, receive, and walk in his love today.
