Thank you for 100 Episodes on Rough Edges

It feels surreal to be celebrating 100 podcast episodes!

As I sit here reflecting on this achievement, I can’t help but wonder how I got this far. Podcasting was never really something that I enjoyed nor did it seem like a feasible option for advocacy (since I hated to hear my voice on recordings).

I’m beyond grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to share my story and for giving me the grace to keep going even when I wasn’t getting the amount of downloads or followers that I wanted.

Podcasting is an investment; a time-consuming one at that. With all of the recording, editing, coordinating guests, and promoting episodes, it can feel very daunting to do it all on your own. Most people have teams that can divide the tasks and produce episodes more efficiently.

In thinking about 100 episodes, it amazes me that I was able to be consistent in publishing episodes given my full time job, getting my Master’s degree at the time, doing volunteer work, and managing my mental health.

I celebrate this moment because it took a lot of tenacity, growth, and courage to share my story. I’m also thankful that I was able to cultivate a community that was so open to my experiences and embraced me in the mental health and faith based communities.

I want to thank all of my listeners for their support and for allowing me to share my story.

There are many moments that I cherished on this journey:

-Connecting with so many amazing mental health advocates and getting to hear their stories and insights

-Collaborating with phenomenal peers and getting to share my experiences through podcast features and live chats

-Creating the Rough Edges Shop with my good friend, Marilette Sanchez, which donates proceeds to the Christian Mental Health Initiative, a nonprofit organization that I am proud to volunteer with

-Getting to do an amazing product photo shoot for the shop with my friend Lydia Vreeman and my sister, Sam Fox (who both took some incredible pictures)

-Sharing my healing journey with my listeners and seeing how this podcast has made a difference in their lives

I love making these podcast episodes and I am beyond grateful for all your support on this journey. Thank you for embracing my journey and standing with me as I share the intersection of faith and mental health.
